Blackwood RFC played host to the Shane Williams Rugby Academy on 29th & 30th July with 80+ children attending each day. Whilst the majority of the players were from Blackwood Mini Section, many other players attended from surrounding clubs such as Bargoed, Nelson, Penallta, and Senghenydd. All of the players had a great two days as they were separated into groups according to age and taught relevant skills for their age group. Even light rain on the afternoon of day two did not dampen the players spirits.
Shane Williams attended the event and spent time with all of the children on skills activities, signing autographs and having photographs taken.
