Final score Blackwood 7 : Tredegar 14
Conditions; Pitch - soft, weather - very wet A very good start to the season, in appalling conditions. First try of the match scored within first 10 mins by an excellent run from winger Callum Owen of Blackwood, converted easily by Evan Price-Morgan. Tredegar levelled the score by end of first half. Second half saw a lot of penalties given away by both sides for knock on’s due to wet conditions and by Blackwood for coming in at the side. Tredegar scored their second try after a series of penalties awarded against Blackwood and although Blackwood fought back were unable to level the score before end of play. Scrum: outstanding scrum we won all our ball and most of theirs Passing: okay but the ball was like a bar of soap so we will let you all off this time. We need to run straighter and get the ball out to the winger's more often. Tackling: okay in general but still needs improvement Rucking: Outstanding. Still need to work on 'coming through the gate' not the side. Line outs: were spot on keep it up. |
